Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions become effective on the date of the Client's fully executed agreement with Epic Story Studios.
Welcome to Epic Story Studios ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). By purchasing, booking, or using our services, you ("Client," "you," or "your") agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
These Terms govern all services provided by Epic Story Studios, including but not limited to AI narration, audiobook production, author voice cloning, voice synthesis, sound design, audio mastering, multimedia production, branding content, and related creative services.
Services Provided
Epic Story Studios provides creative media and production services, including but not limited to:
- AI-generated audiobook narration
- Author voice cloning and synthetic voice modeling
- Audio mastering and formatting
- Sound design and background audio integration
- Script formatting and adaptation
- Promotional media production
- Multimedia branding content
- Digital content consulting
Specific deliverables, timelines, pricing, and scope of work will be outlined in separate proposals, invoices, statements of work, or service agreements.
Deposits & Payments
2.1 Deposits
A non-refundable deposit may be required before work begins. Deposits reserve production time, creative resources, and scheduling availability.
2.2 Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- 50% deposit is due before project commencement
- Remaining balance is due prior to final delivery or release of mastered files
Invoices are payable within the timeframe listed on the invoice.
2.3 Late Payments
Late payments may result in:
- Delayed delivery
- Suspension of work
- Removal from the production schedule
- Additional late fees where permitted by law
Epic Story Studios reserves the right to withhold final deliverables until all outstanding balances are paid in full.
Refund Policy
Due to the custom and digital nature of our services:
- Deposits are non-refundable
- Completed work is non-refundable
- Refunds are not provided for subjective preferences after approved production stages
If Epic Story Studios is unable to complete the agreed services for reasons within our control, a partial refund may be issued at our discretion.
Revision Policy
Projects include only the number of revisions specified in the project proposal or invoice. Additional revisions beyond the included amount may incur additional charges. Major scope changes requested after production begins may require a revised quote and timeline.
Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees to:
- Provide accurate scripts, manuscripts, assets, and instructions
- Respond to approval requests in a timely manner
- Ensure they own or have rights to submitted materials
- Obtain any necessary permissions, licenses, or clearances
Epic Story Studios is not responsible for delays caused by missing materials, late approvals, or incomplete client communication.
Intellectual Property Ownership
6.1 Client Ownership
Upon full payment, the Client owns the final approved deliverables specifically created for the project, unless otherwise stated in writing.
6.2 Company Rights
Epic Story Studios retains ownership of:
- Proprietary workflows
- Production methods
- Templates
- AI systems and configurations
- Internal editing processes
- Demo versions and drafts
- Promotional excerpts unless otherwise agreed
AI Voice Cloning & Synthetic Voice Services
7.1 Authorization
By submitting voice recordings, manuscripts, scripts, text, or other media for voice cloning, narration, or synthetic voice generation, the Client confirms that they:
- Own the voice rights associated with the submitted recordings and materials, OR
- Have explicit legal authorization from the rightful owner(s)
The Client further confirms that they own or have secured all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for any manuscript, written content, audio, likeness, intellectual property, or other media submitted for production. The Client accepts full legal responsibility for the materials provided and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Epic Story Studios from any claims, disputes, or legal actions arising from unauthorized use of submitted content or voice materials.
7.2 Prohibited Uses
Clients may not use Epic Story Studios services for:
- Fraudulent impersonation
- Defamation
- Harassment
- Political deception
- Illegal activity
- Unauthorized celebrity voice replication
- Misleading or deceptive content
Epic Story Studios reserves the right to refuse any project that violates ethical or legal standards.
7.3 Voice Model Ownership
Custom voice models created specifically for a Client project may only be used for the agreed production purposes unless otherwise licensed in writing.
7.4 AI Disclosure & Platform Compliance
Clients are solely responsible for ensuring that their intended use of AI-generated narration, voice cloning, or synthetic media complies with the rules, policies, disclosure requirements, and eligibility standards of any publishing, audiobook, streaming, distribution, advertising, or marketplace platforms.
Epic Story Studios makes no guarantees regarding acceptance, approval, monetization, or distribution by third-party platforms.
Content Restrictions
Epic Story Studios reserves the right to decline projects involving:
- Hate speech
- Illegal activity
- Explicit exploitation
- Copyright infringement
- Harmful misinformation
- Content violating platform policies or applicable laws
Delivery & File Retention
9.1 Delivery
Final files will be delivered digitally via approved delivery methods.
9.2 File Retention
Project files may be deleted after 90 days following project completion unless archival services are purchased separately.
Clients are responsible for downloading and backing up delivered files.
Turnaround Times
Estimated timelines are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed unless explicitly stated in writing. Turnaround times may vary depending on:
- Project complexity
- Revision requests
- Client responsiveness
- Queue volume
- Technical issues beyond reasonable control
Limitation of Liability
Epic Story Studios shall not be liable for:
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Lost profits or revenue
- Platform distribution issues
- Third-party service failures
- Publishing rejections
- Data loss outside our control
Maximum liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for the specific project.
Confidentiality
Both parties agree to maintain confidentiality regarding unpublished manuscripts, business information, proprietary materials, and sensitive project details unless disclosure is authorized or legally required.
Marketing & Portfolio Rights
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Epic Story Studios may display non-confidential portions of completed work for portfolio, demo, educational, or promotional purposes. Clients may request NDA-based restrictions before production begins.
Independent Contractor Relationship
Epic Story Studios operates as an independent contractor. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment relationship, or joint venture.
Termination
Epic Story Studios reserves the right to terminate services if the Client:
- Violates these Terms
- Engages in abusive conduct
- Fails to make payments
- Requests unlawful or unethical content
Any completed work up to termination remains billable.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing services, signing a proposal, paying an invoice, submitting materials, or entering into a fully executed agreement with Epic Story Studios, the Client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
